Jorge Puig was born in Chile in 1985 and resides in London since 2009. His music has been broadcasted in Abu Dhabi, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Spain, United Kingdom and Uruguay; including TVE and BBC World Radio. Recent work includes the documentary TV Series Misión Ciencia (2016), Viral (2015) and Hijos de las Estrellas (2014), which is on Netfix in several countries including the USA. In 2014 he was commissioned arrangements for choir and organ that were performed at St. Peter’s Cathedral and Paul VI Hall at the Vatican. Since 2010 he has been part of the creative team of the upcoming musical The Happy Prince, initially as the assistant of the composer and singer Hal Cazalet – for whom he is now orchestrating and arranging. Jorge is currently finishing the music for his fourth TV Series Operación Verde for Chilean National Television.
He was nominated to the Jerry Goldsmith Awards in 2015 and 2016 for Best Music in TV Series, and in 2013 and 2017 for Best Music in Promotional Video; he was finalist in the Herne Hill Music Festival 2012 Composition Contest; the Acquedolci Independent Film Festival reviewed his music for the animation Coma, winner of the 2012 edition ‘…for the refinement of the music writing, effectively functional to transport the viewer to an imaginary space and unconscious time…’
Jorge studied a Master in Film Composition at the Royal College of Music in London, obtaining a Master degree in Advance Composition in 2011. He studied a BMus (Hons) in jazz and classical composition in 2003 and before moving to London he took several music courses in advance jazz harmony, film music and music production.
